Understanding job status

What each job status means, its badge color, and how crews use the five statuses as a pipeline from estimate to archive.

Every job carries a status that says where it sits in your pipeline, from a first quote to a finished, filed move. The status shows as a color-coded badge on each job card, so you can read the state of your board at a glance.

The five statuses

Status Badge color What it means
Estimate Amber A quote. Every new job starts here.
Booked Blue The customer confirmed the move.
In Progress Amber The move is underway.
Completed Green The move is done.
Archived Gray Filed away and out of the active queue.

Note: Estimate and In Progress share the same amber badge color. Read the badge text, not just the color, to tell them apart.

How crews use it as a pipeline

The statuses form a simple pipeline. A typical job moves through them like this:

  1. Estimate — you create the job to quote the move. New jobs and duplicated jobs both start here.
  2. Booked — the customer accepts and the move is on the calendar.
  3. In Progress — the crew is on-site capturing inventory and running the move.
  4. Completed — the move is finished.
  5. Archived — the job is done being referenced and you file it out of the way.

You're not forced through these in order. Set whatever status matches reality.

Changing a job's status

You can change status two ways, and both take effect immediately:

  • Inline: on the Jobs tab, press and hold a job card and pick a new status from the Status submenu.
  • In the editor: open the job, choose Edit job, and use the Status picker in the Pipeline section.

See Edit, duplicate, change status, or delete a job for the full walkthrough.

Note: Status is about your operational pipeline. It's separate from finalizing a job. Finalizing signs and locks the inventory as a legal record, which is a different action. See Finalize & sign.
