Edit, duplicate, change status, or delete a job

Change any job field, re-quote a repeat customer by duplicating a job, move a job through the pipeline, or delete one.

Nothing on a job is locked while you're working it. You can edit any field, spin off a fresh estimate for a repeat customer, move the job along your pipeline, or delete it. This article covers all four.

Edit a job

  1. Open the job from the Jobs tab or the Library.
  2. Tap the options menu (the ⋯ button) in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose Edit job.

The edit form opens with the same fields as the New Job wizard, plus a Pipeline section at the top with a Status picker. Change whatever you need, then tap Save, or Cancel to discard.

Note: Edit job appears only while the job is not finalized. Once an inventory is signed, it becomes a locked legal record. See Finalize & sign.

Note: The same required fields as the wizard apply here. If a required field is blank, Save is disabled until you fill it.

Change status inline

You don't have to open the editor to move a job along. On the Jobs tab, press and hold a job card, open the Status submenu, and pick a new status. It updates immediately.

You can also change status from the editor's Pipeline section. Either way, picking the status the job is already in does nothing.

See Understanding job status for what each status means.

Duplicate as a new estimate

When a repeat customer asks for a new quote, duplicate their old job instead of retyping everything. Press and hold the job card and choose Duplicate as new estimate.

What carries over:

  • Shipper name, email, and phone
  • Tag color and load point
  • Truck # and agent #
  • Origin and destination addresses (and their map coordinates)
  • Move date and move type
  • Notes

What resets on the copy:

  • A new job identity (it's a separate job)
  • Order number and LOT number left blank (they're unique per shipment and must never be duplicated onto an inventory)
  • Status reset to Estimate
  • Unsigned, with an empty inventory

Note: Duplicating copies the job's setup, not its inventory. The new estimate starts with no items, so you re-capture (or re-quote) from a clean slate. Carrying the inventory over is a separate feature.

Delete a job

You can delete a job two ways:

  • From the job's Edit job form: tap Delete job at the bottom.
  • From the Jobs tab: press and hold the card and choose Delete.

Either way, the app asks you to confirm:

  • Title: "Delete job?"
  • Message: "This permanently deletes [job title]. This can't be undone."
  • Buttons: Delete [job title] and Cancel.

Important: Deleting is permanent. Deletion confirmations exist because the inventory is a legal record. If you're deleting a customer file from the Library, the confirmation wording is different and spells out exactly what's removed. See The Library tab.
